It's CS1102C tomorrow!!!! Yet I'm still writing here huh? Haiz, still got 4 chapters of discrete math there, really dying. Anyway, this post is gonna to be in English, since there are millions of jargon that I don't know how to say in Japanese. Sigh...
Okay, it's about Linux Mint Felicia, my latest Linux experience. I must say that I am really a rookie in Unix system now, but Linux Mint, somehow, is the best Unix system that I had ever tried so far!
As it takes Ubuntu as its base, Linux Mint inherits all of the good things from Ubuntu: Big drivers collection, user-friendly, etc. "From Freedom Came Elegance", its slogan really means it, Linux Mint can be considered a far more elegant version of Ubuntu. And its "menu" function works pretty nice, just like what Windows Start Button is. And what's really nice is the utmost important flash and Java, which Ubuntu doesn't include by default, are pre-installed in Linux Mint, good job!
Apart of the package installer inherited from Ubuntu, Linux Mint has its own software portal, which Ubuntu doesn't have!(Well I haven't tried the latest Ubuntu 9.0.4) Although it "looks" like not a big deal, it helps a lot. It gives you huge access to thousands of open-source software that you can feel free(and they are free, of course!) to download them!
One more thing, my experience until now somewhat tells me that Linux Mint is less buggy. Well it's just my feeling, not professionally done! ^_^ But anyway I have encountered a bug now, the IME other than English doesn't work, so far no cure yet(the Mint community says), perhaps Linux Mint 7(next version) will fix it.
Haha, enough rookie writing, it's time for me to study again! Oh my god....
